In fall 2005, everyone in Watauga County was invited to nominate their favorite "Litter Hero" for recognition by the MountainKeepers organization on November 2nd. A Litter Hero could be an individual, family, class, club, scout troop, team or any other combination of people you can imagine. The only requirement to be honored as a Litter Hero is that they have done something worthwhile this year to help make Watauga County litter-free. Everone nominated was honored.
