Title: Sustainable Building and Agriculture

Main Idea:

Host a conference on sustainable building alternatives for homebuilders and contractors in the area so that the methods for building sustainably are known and available.

We took the idea further:

Host a tour in conjunction with the conference of places we think are examples of sustainable living, that combine both agriculture and building (perhaps even more).

Another idea:

Conduct a weekend workshop series. This would be an ongoing educational series to help others (including low income populations) do sustainable development work. It could be anything from installing a solar hot water heater to growing a garden.

We identified some over-arching goals:

1. Integrate/collaborate with many existing Organizations.

2. Appeal to different audiences specifically, i.e. A conference for contractors, and a weekend workshop for a first-time home buyer.

3. Education and Skill development.

4. Building community.

5. Improve Quality of life.
